RESOLUTION HONORING EARL DAVID LECHLER, JR.
RESOLUTION #03-80
WHEREAS, David Lechler, Jr. is a senior at Williamston High School; and
WHEREAS, David enjoys school, plays soccer and is on the track team and yearbook Committee, he also participates in off-road four-wheel drive truck racing and hopes to pursue an engineering career where he can use his mechanical and building talents; and
WHEREAS, David has been an active participant in Boy Scout Troop #63 of Williamston since 1996; and
WHEREAS, during his scouting career he has received 27 merit badges and became a member of the Order of the Arrow in 1999, has served as a scribe, quartermaster, assistant patrol leader, patrol leader and troop quartermaster; and
WHEREAS, his eagle project was construction and placement of new flag holders on Putnam Street in Williamston and holding community workshops informing citizens of the history of the American flag and how to show proper respect and care for the flag; and
WHEREAS, David has recently earned the highest rank attainable in scouting, the Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulate Earl David Lechler, Jr. for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extend its sincere appreciation to David for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
